Sunday, August 31, 2008. (AP) -- Europe captain Nick Faldo has named Ian Poulter and Paul Casey as his wild-card picks for the Ryder Cup squad that will take on the U.S. team September 19th through the 21st at Valhalla in Kentucky.
The announcement was made shortly after the end of the Johnnie Walker Championship in Scotland.
Augusta State grad Oliver Wilson clinched the 10th and final automatic spot by finishing in a tie for 10th place at Gleneagles, while Justin Rose and Soren Hansen also qualified to make their debuts at the competition.
Padraig Harrington, Sergio Garcia, Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson, Robert Karlsson, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Graeme McDowell had already made the team.
U.S. captain Paul Azinger (AY'-zing-ur) will announce his wild-card picks Tuesday morning.
