Saturday, August 16, 2008. (AP) -- The U.S. men's basketball team is living up to the "Redeem Team" monicker, especially after a 119-82 blowout win over Spain. LeBron James led the way with 18 points against the defending world champions.
Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony each finished with 16.
For the first time since arriving in Beijing, the Americans lit it up from three-point land. They nailed seven of their first 10 shots from beyond the arc, after making just 29 percent of their three-pointers in the first three games. They finished 12-of-25 today.
Team USA wraps up preliminary play against Germany on Monday in
a game that doesn't mean anything now. They'll face either Australia or Croatia in the quarterfinals of the medal round.
