Fellows Wins Rain-Shortened Race In Montreal

Saturday, August 2, 2008 (AP) -- Canadian road-racer Ron Fellows splashed his way to victory in the first NASCAR points event run on grooved rain tires. He won the NAPA Auto Parts 200 on NASCAR's Nationwide circuit when heavy rain and poor visibility forced officials to end the race 26 laps early.

The 48-year-old Ontario driver had a 33-second advantage over fellow Canadian Patrick Carpentier (pah-TREEK' kar-pen-tee-AY') when the race was red-flagged, then called a few minutes later. Marcus Ambrose finished third.
