Saturdau, August 2, 2008 (AP) -- Chicago White Sox outfielder Ken Griffey Junior left today's game at Kansas City in the sixth inning with what the club said was heat-related cramping in his right leg.

Griffey was playing his second game for the White Sox after coming over in a trade with Cincinnati. The temperature at game time was 95 degrees with a heat index of 111.

Griffey was 0-for-2 and made an outstanding shoestring catch in center field in the second inning. Dewayne Wise pinch hit for him leading off the sixth with the Royals leading 8-3.
