LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Javon Walker could be released from the
hospital today. The Oakland Raiders wide receiver was admitted
yesterday after he was beaten, robbed and left unconscious on a Las
Vegas street after a night of partying, according to police.
Police say a large amount of cash and some jewelry were taken
from Walker, who suffered "significant injuries." The 29-year-old Walker signed a six-year, 55-million-dollar deal with Oakland after being released by the Denver Broncos in February. A Raiders spokesman says the team is in the process of gathering information and has no further comment.
