Mount St. Mary's 69 Coppin State 60

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Jeremy Goode scored 21 points as Mount St.
Mary's beat Coppin State 69-60 in the opening-round game of the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

Goode helped the Mountaineers secure their first NCAA tournament victory by draining four free throws in the final 27 seconds. Mount St. Mary's also held the Eagles scoreless during a five-minute stretch of the second half.

Tywain McKee had 15 points for Coppin State, which won the MEAC tourney to become the first 20-loss team to earn a spot in the NCAA tournament.

Mount St. Mary's will take on top seed North Carolina in the first round of the East Regional Friday at Raleigh.
