WASHINGTON (AP) -- A reported draft letter written by Congressional staffers asks the Justice Department to investigate whether Roger Clemens made false statements to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
That's according to the New York Times, which cites three unidentified lawyers familiar with the matter saying the letter has been composed.
Clemens testified under oath February 13th before the House Oversight Committee, repeating denials he ever used performance-enhancing drugs.
A spokeswoman for committee chairman Henry Waxman wouldn't comment when asked by The Associated Press about the existence of the draft letter. Committee Republican general counsel Keith Ausbrook says he has no knowledge of such a letter.
