Tigers Still Rule College Basketball World

UNDATED (AP) -- The scene is set for a Number-1 versus Number-2
in men's college basketball. In the latest Associated Press Top-25
college basketball poll, the Memphis Tigers retained the top spot
while Tennessee edged up to Number-2. Those two clubs will square
off this Saturday in Memphis.
The Tigers were given all 72 first place votes and remain the
only unbeaten team in men's play with a record of 25-and-0. The
Volunteers are 23-and-2. Saturday's game will mark the 38th time
the top two teams have meet.
Rounding out the top five this week are North Carolina, Kansas
and Duke.
The second five features UCLA, Texas, Butler, Stanford and
The second 10 this week consists of Wisconsin, Georgetown,
Connecticut, Purdue, Indiana, Drake, Washington State, Louisville,
Michigan State and Vanderbilt.
The bottom five are Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Saint Mary's of
California, Kansas State and Marquette.
