TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- New York Yankees' pitcher Andy Pettitte has
apologized to current and former teammates as well as fans for
using Human Growth Hormone. The left-hander held a news conference
this afternoon and apologized for the embarrassment he has caused
people.
Pettitte said he questioned his use of the drug almost
immediately after taking it. When asked if he watched last week's
testimony by Roger Clemens, Pettitte said he had not and that he
hopes to remains friends with both Clemens and former trainer Brian
McNamee. Pettitte said he took HGH to help him recover from an
injury, not to gain any advantage.
