Saturday Feb. 16, 2008
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Florida Panthers forward Richard Zednik is
out of the hospital, less than a week after he was slashed in the
throat by a teammate's skate.
Officials in Buffalo, New York, say Zednik was discharged from
Buffalo General Hospital on Thursday evening. He spent Valentine's
Day night with his wife Jessica, and they returned home to Florida
yesterday.
Zednik lost five pints of blood after the skate sliced into his
carotid artery.
In a statement, the 32-year-old said he had received support and
encouragement from people all over the world.
