LUBBOCK, Tex. (AP) -- Bob Knight surfaced on a Minneapolis radio program today, but other than that, was nowhere to be found following his sudden resignation as Texas Tech coach yesterday. The 67-year-old told radio station WCCO in Minneapolis that he felt it was time to step down to give his son, Pat, a chance to guide the Red Raiders through the end of the season.
Pat Knight has been an assistant to his father and the head-coach-in-waiting.
The controversial and fiery Knight stepped down as the winningest coach in men's Division I basketball with 902 victories.
