NHL Star Sidelines

Monday Jan. 21, 2008
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been placed
on injured reserve. It's a move that allowed the Pittsburgh
Penguins to add an extra forward for their final two games before
the All-Star break.
The leading vote-getter in All-Star balloting hurt his right
ankle Friday during a 3-0 loss to Tampa Bay. He's expected to be
out at least a month and possibly longer.
Because of swelling in his injured ankle, Crosby won't be
re-examined by team doctors until tomorrow.
The preliminary diagnosis is a high ankle sprain. Penguins
goalie Marc-Andre Fleury (MAHRK-ahn-dray FLUHR'-ee) has been out
since December 6th with the same injury and still isn't ready to
return.
The NHL All-Star game is scheduled for Sunday in Atlanta.
