NEW YORK (AP) -- Defensive back Bob Sanders of the Indianapolis Colts has been named the 2007 Associated Press NFL Defensive Player
of the Year. The safety got 31 of the 50 votes which were cast by members of a nationwide panel of sportscasters and writers. The next closest was Seattle defensive end Patrick Kerney and Tennessee tackle Albert Haynesworth, each of whom got four votes apiece.
Sanders has such an impact on the Colts' defense that coach Tony Dungy has nicknamed him "The Eraser."
