Posted: 06/24/2011 - Josh Mazzola’s three-run home run turned the tide for the Augusta GreenJackets in the fifth inning of Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Savannah Sand Gnats. The three-run blast – Mazzola’s fifth – gave the GreenJackets a lead they didn’t lose in a 4-2 win and allowed Augusta to salvage a split in the twinbill after dropping a 2-1 decision in the opener.

First national cycling titles handed out

Posted: 06/22/2011 - The USA Cycling Juniors, U23, Elite & Para Road National Championships opened on Wednesday with the first five national titles awarded in the junior road races. Just under 200 of the nation’s top young road cyclists took to the 11-kilometer loop course around Augusta’s Fort Gordon as temperatures rose into the mid-90s.
