Augusta, Ga--Sometimes stats can be deceiving. You see a guy who rushes for 125 yards and you think, well, that's no big deal. Sometimes you have to look deeper and it's a big reason we've selected Josh Jackson of Westminster as our player of the week.
In their win over Creekside, Jackson touched the ball just six times in the backfield and scored on four of them. Including 43 and 61 yard td runs and tack on a kick return going for 75 yards. Here's a kid who went to a Gamecock football camp in the summer and elevated his game.
"Well basically I improved a lot from last year by the camps" said Josh Jackson "Lateral movements with the camps, last year I wasn't so focused on laterally moving but going downhill all the time, but now this year I'm more laterally focused and learning to go downhill at the same time"
The junior rushed for a tough 90 yards in the season opener and you tell is getting more comfortable and better every time he steps on the field.
