Westminster looks for big strides with new head coach

Friday, August 15, 2014

Augusta, Ga--They're still a new program and they're still working to get better and more competitive. Seems like Westminster is getting closer.

Steve Ackley has taken over as head coach and brings another level of intensity to the Wildcats. They're still battling the numbers game but have some kids that can make plays, like Nygl Eaddy and Michael Almond just to name two. One big problem has been winning region games. That's been a real focus here in the early going.

" I mean the last couple of years we were just like, oh it's region and we're about to lose, but now this year we have a different mindset of just going out there and we can actually get a chance for the playoffs." said Ngy Eaddy

"They really bought in to being commited this year and are just really working hard and really just excited to get the season going as the new guy here." said Steve Ackley "But the kids have just been working hard and we're excited."

With several of the Macon schools leaving the GISA, this year's Cats could finally break through.
