KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fresh off a 78-63 victory at No. 13 Montevallo over the weekend, the University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball team jumped seven spots, landing at No. 15 in the latest NABC/Division II rankings released Tuesday afternoon.
The Pacers are currently 12-2 overall, including a 4-0 record against Peach Belt Conference competition.
Leading the way for head coach Vince Alexander’s squad is senior Ronald Zimmerman, who averages 16.9 points per contest. He increases his totals to 19.2 points per game during conference competition.
Paul Larsen (13.0) and DeVontae Wright (12.8) are also accounting for double figures on the season. Larsen ups his tally to 16 points and 11 rebounds per game against league foes while Wright pours in 17.2 markers against PBC competition.
Alvin Brown leads Division II with 4.50 blocks per game.
USC Aiken has reeled off seven straight wins heading into Wednesday night’s match-up at Clayton State. (7:30 p.m.).
The Pacers return home Saturday when they host Young Harris at 7:30 p.m., in the Convocation Center. Prior to the men’s game, Zimmerman will be honored for his effort from the 2012-13 season in which he led all of Division II in three-point field goals made (134) and three-point field goals made per game (4.06).
