Another couple of more athletes have signed to play ball at the next level. Westside's Naquan Brooks is off to Albany State and Midland Valley's Jeremy Burgess are off to play football.
It was a special day for Brooks and with family and friends on hand, signed his letter of intent. Why so special? He's the first in his family to go to college.
"My grandmom, who's not living any more, always said, you're special, you're special in the family, you're going to be different. You'll be the one to make it so I knew I would be the one to make it."
Brooks will play in the SIAC so we'll be able to see him when they play Paine College. Also signing today, Midland Valley's Jeremy Burgess. He's off to Gray Military in Cayce, South Carolina. By my count, we're over 40 kids signed to play football and nearly 100 overall athletes signing college scholarships.
