Thomson, Ga--Football was front and center in Thomson today, then again, they bleed the sport in the home of the black and gold. Today, one of their own, Jasper Brinkley giving back with what's become his annual football camp.
Brinkley, now a member of the Arizona Cardinals was in the same shoes of these kids years ago and never forgot his roots. Along with his brother Casper and some other friends, he knows how important it is to be active in the area and give back to the kids.
"Just to have the opportunity to come out and be able to play with some of the home town youth and have my family helping, they definitely want to be a part of this one and want to continue to keep doing this each and every year" said Jasper Brinkley "Ultimately to have Casper right with me. This kind of brings back some of my childhood days, this is where everything started right here on these fields."
Brinkley's looking forward to the new challenges with the Cardinals and likes the climate change from Minnesota. He wasn't alone today. Tennessee Titan and Jefferson County product Ferando Velasco also helping out with the camp
