Harlem, Ga--Harlem was one of the biggest surprise teams from a year ago. Jimmie Lewis and the Bulldogs went out and won six games with a big senior class leading the charge. This year, they'll have their work cut out if they want to get there again.
The Bulldogs lost 17 seniors and when your roster size is usually numbers in the 30's, well, not too hard to figure it out. What they do have back is some firepower. Austin Burt proved his worth in the backfield and hunter rippe developed at quarterback. They'll help a lot, but with all new faces up front, there is a concern.
"We have decent backs, we have good quarterbacks but the line is untested." said Jimmie Lewis "I mean I don't care how good you are in the backfield, if your line isn't good you're going to have problems, but we'll see what this young crowd will do on the line."
"It gave us more push, more drive when we come out here and practice." said Austin Burt "We push it. We have a lot of young people, but we're pushing them to get better."
The other concern lewis is hoping to work out is his defense, needs them to be better. But as he said, when your defense is also your offense, it's going to be a work in progress.
