Augusta, Ga--It's been quite the senior season for Aquinas star Brendan Douglas. Patiently waiting for the right college offer to come along. Yesterday, the offer came from Georgia Tech and Douglas said yes. It comes on the heels of one of his best games. Just part of the reason he's our Acadmey Sports and Outdoors player of the week.
300 yards rushing, five touchdowns and a double digit tackle game on defense. Not bad for a guy doing it pretty much one handed. Yea, he broke his left hand a few weeks back and his left hand is wrapped like a club. Hasn't stopped one of the best in the business to come up with jar dropping plays pretty much every Friday night.
"I just kind of keep my eyes up and just see where ever the hole is" said Brendan Douglas "Sometimes it just opens up at different spots and I just try to use my eyes the best I can"
"He never ceases to amaze me" said coach Matt LeZotte "He's just one of those guys that just makes plays. When you have players, you have a guy that just makes plays and it's unbelievable."
Douglas says he's had to adjust a little because of the hand, and just holds on the ball even tighter in his good hand. Certainly hasn't slowed him down on defense either where he's had nearly 40 tackles in the last couple of games.
