AUGUSTA, Ga. —Connor Smith of Shoal Creek, Ala., remains atop the Boys Division with a two-round total of 12-under-par 132 at the E-Z-GO Vaughn Taylor Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf. In the Girls Division, Dylan Kim of Winter Garden, Fla., broke the first-round tie to take the lead with a 1-over-par 145 two-day total.

Conducted by the American Junior Golf Association, the E-Z-GO Vaughn Taylor Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf is a 54-hole stroke play competition being played on the par-72 course at Jones Creek Golf Club. The event features 63 boys and 21 girls, ages 12-18, from 12 states, three countries. The Boys Division played the course at 6,799 yards, while the Girls Division played the course at 6,046 yards.

Smith extends his lead after carding a 4-under-par 68, paces the field by ten strokes and continues to post low scores.

“I’ve been really content with how I’ve been performing. I started the day with a par and birdie on the first two holes, which set me up for another successful day,” Smith said. “I knew I wasn’t going to post a lower score than yesterday, but I had the mindset to keep my lead and put another good number up,” Smith went on to say.

In second place Jack Comstock of Jacksonville, Fla., carded a two-day total 2-under-par 142. Tyler Bakich of Valrico, Fla., posted a 1-under-par 143 to sit in third. In a two-way tie for fourth with even-par 144s are S.M. Lee of Buford, Ga., and Kevin Slayden of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

Kim had an eventful round after carding five birdies, pushing her lead to four strokes. Kim credits her performance to her short game and mental focus during her round.

“I sunk three easy birdies on the first six holes which was a good start to my round,” Kim said. “I also stayed calm throughout the day and I wasn’t as nervous, I’ve learned how to perform and think under pressure.”

In second at 5-over-par 149 is Sarah Harrison of Martinez, Ga. In a tie for third at 7-over-par 151 are Natalie Srinivasan of Spartanburg, S.C., and Khushboo Thiagaraj of Haymarket, Va.
