March 8, 2014 JOHNSTON, SC-- The NFL Draft begins in two months to the date, North Augusta's Matt Hazel is one of many preparing for a future in the league.
The Coastal Carolina graduate has been engaged in the business of NFL training, but, every once in while, he's enjoying the ride.
It's been a busy ride for the wide receiver.-- training for the draft in Florida, traveling to Indianapolis for the NFL Combine.
On Saturday, the receiver returned to the CSRA, speaking for the Edgefield County Youth Empowerment Center. Hazel told the group his hard work has paid off, but there's more work to reach his dream.
"It's a grind that's really what it is and more of a blessing. Just the opportunity to see different things, be different places and get to see different players. Seeing the different teams at the NFL Combine, it was just a humbling experience," Hazel said.
Hazel owns Coastal Carolina's single-season and career reception records. After training in Pensacola prior to the combine, the receiver has returned to the CSRA for training.
