Granitville, SC--Round one of the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley is in the books and we've had some locals make a run at the title in the past. Matt NeSmith made his name at this event and now Greyson Sigg is trying to do the same.
A great start to things for Sigg who fired a one under 71 that puts him within striking distance of the leader. Sigg knocked home an early eagle and then had a string of three straight birdies on the back nine. A great up and down for bogey on 17 saved him as he played well on a course he knows so well
"I think it helps a lot " said Greyson Sigg "I see some of the kids miss it on the greens. The thing about this course you have to hit in the right spot on teh green. You just have to know where every slope is and every runoff is and I think that helps a lot."
Sigg is a caddie at Sage Valley as well, so he knows where to be and where not to hill the ball.
