Augusta, GA – The Augusta GreenJackets (41-28, 12-3) won their second straight game over the Charleston RiverDogs (45-25, 5-9) on Thursday night with a 5-4 win. Andrew Davis drove in three runs to lead the offense and Waldis Joaquin recorded the win in relief.
With the score tied 3-3 in the bottom of the eighth inning the GreenJackets plated two runs for a 5-3 lead. Thomas Neal broke the tie with an RBI single scoring Angel Villalona for a 4-3 lead. Davis followed with an RBI double to give Augusta a much needed insurance run for a 5-3 lead.
The RiverDogs got one run back in the top of the ninth inning off Andrew De La Garza when Abraham Almonte connected for a two-out RBI single to pull within one, 5-4.
