Sunday April 1, 2012

Augusta, Ga--Starting Monday, the eyes of the sporting world will start to focus on Augusta and the Masters. Starting today, many of the biggest names in the sport have made an appearance.

It is just over 300 yards down magnolia lane to the Augusta National clubhouse. For those taking part in the masters it's the drive of a lifetime

Simply a chamber of commerce day with the biggest name in golf, already in town. Tiger woods among the early arrivals. One of many past champions who could be found on the range and on the course.

"It's always fantastic" said Jose Maria Olazabal "Once you make that turn and drive through Magnolia Lane, obviously there's lots of memories that reverberate"

"Everytime I drive down, I can't believe I'm coming back in" said Larry Mize "You know it was a dream come true for me to play here to begin with, just to still come back, it's a dream come true for me"

Then you have the Masters rookies, and amateurs. Kelly Kraft, won the US Amateur and is already here trying to soak in the experience.

"There's a bunch more poeple out here" said Kelly Kraft "Some of the players are getting here, you can just feel the buzz I guess in the air, ready to play the first major"

From the meticulus details on the flower beds at founders circle, to the priceless beauty where ever you may turn, Masters week has arrived.

"You walk onto this magnficient practice ground, it's one of the best you see in the world ." said Ian Woosnam "You walk onto these greens, it's just like velvet"
