Masters ratings second best in a decade

Monday April 11, 2011

NEW YORK (AP) -- The final round of the Masters drew its
second-highest preliminary television rating in 10 years.

The finish Sunday didn't match last year's rating, when Tiger
Woods returned from a five-month layoff after revelations of
infidelity and finished fourth. But with Woods surging into
contention amid a crowded leaderboard, the coverage drew the best
rating other than 2010 for the past decade.

CBS said Monday the average overnight rating was a 10.4 with a
22 share, up 18 percent from 2009. Last year was a 12.0/25.

Ratings represent the percentage of all homes with televisions
tuned into a program. Shares represent the percentage of all homes
with TVs in use at the time. Overnight ratings measure the
country's largest markets.
