Masters week begins with early arrival

Sunday April 7, 2013

Augusta, Ga--Masters week is finally upon us as the eyes of the sporting world and beyond turns to Augusta. Today, moving in day for many of the top players in the world.

It is the calm before the storm. The gates behind me, nobody's here yet because it is Sunday at Augusta National. But the course itself, and the practice range is busy. A number of golfers already in town getting ready"

"You know you're really excited because you know you have a big challenge in front of you but this is the place where a lot of dreams can come true" said Hunter Mahan

The azaleas are in bloom signifying the begining of spring and the begining of masters week among those on hand today, the number one golfer in the world Tiger Woods. For pretty much everyone here, this is the start of something special.

"Just to get to come here every April and play in this golf tournament is just a dream come true" said Larry Mize " I'm like an excited kid every time to come back"

While many are here to compete and win, the amateurs are pretty much in a different boat. Tj Vogel is the Public Links champ and its safe to say it'll be tough to wipe the smile off his face.

"This is a lifetime dream of mine to be able to play in the Masters" said TJ Vogel "I wasn't expecting this to play as an amateur, so to be able to do it you know, at the age of 22, it's a great feeling"

The drive down Magnolia Lane will never get old. From long time veterans to the youngesters here for the first time. It's officially Masters week
