AUGUSTA, Ga. --- From cell phones to alcoholic beverages, there's a long list of items patrons can't bring with them to the Masters Tournament.

Today another item was added to that list: your camera. You will have to make sure you keep it in the car or back at your room, because the practice rounds are over.

An age-old tradition comes with a long list of forbidden items. As droves of devoted patrons make the walk to the gate, they are reminded of everything they can't bring before they enter.

It's Jim Hope's first time to the Masters, "Went on the website a couple of times to make sure I know what I could and couldn't bring," he said.

"Brought a folding chair that i purchased last year," said Leo Mack, another patron.

The prohibited items list includes things like folded arm chairs, bags of a certain size and electronic devices. Patrons like Jim Johnston have a couple of simple rules: "During the tournament no camera, just bring a lot of cash."

"I'm very sad I can't bring my phone in. We're too addicted to technology," said Kelli Corkins, who was ready to walk through the gates.

"They (cell phones) just disturb everybody. So this is a nice peaceful place just to watch golf," said Hope.

Some patrons even walk through the gates with empty pockets to avoid having unnecessary items. "Women with purses get away with more things than men do," said another patron.

Size does matter here. "According to the website you can only bring in a bag 10 inches by 5 inches by 5 inches, which was very limiting for me," said Corkins. She had to go out and buy another purse for her essentials.

"I have lip gloss, I have medication in case I need it, credit cards and money. My I.D. Gotta have that in case I have a couple cocktails inside. And my husband's cigars with me as well," she explained.

And today one more item is added to the long list, your camera. "Everything you need, everything you want, they've got inside. You can get it in there," said Hope.

If you do accidentally bring an item with you that is prohibited, you may check it in at the security gate, or you will have to walk back to your car to keep it there.
