AUGUSTA---The 74th Masters is now underway, and what a way to start things off, with two legends teeing it up. There were a total of ten green jacket winners out there, and the patrons were out in force.
Jack Nicklaus' name was added to the starters board first thing. The two greats will be forever linked, especially here in Augusta. Palmer went first this morning, and said afterwards he was just happy to make contact. Then six-time winner Nicklaus took to the tee and rifled one out there.
Afterwards the duo spoke about being together again and how the patrons react towards them.
"It was very nice, very nice. We had a nice time," Nicklaus said. "You know, Arnold and I kidded each other all the way, and that was good. That was what it's supposed to be."
"What can you say? No one has played Augusta and done any better than he has," Palmer said of Nicklaus.
