AUGUSTA---Masters Week is quickly coming upon us. Some golfers are already in town. One of the interesting rookies this year is Kevin Na. A lot of folks might not recognize him on the course, but for a little TV show he did recently.
It doesn't take someone long to recognize the theme to CSI. It might take a little longer to recognize Masters rookie Kevin Na. This past year, they both came together.
But this was just a cameo.
"I actually got more comments and phone calls about that, then any good finish at a golf tournament." said Kevin Na "If I'm in the final group and in contention, it's like ah, good job, I get on CSI it's HEY MAN THAT WAS GREAT!"
Na's story goes well beyond his "acting" career. Matter of fact, he took a huge gamble when he was 17 by skipping his senior year of high school and going pro.
"It was a big risk I took. I was very fortunate that things worked out. I got on tour when I was 20. I played overseas when I was 18 and 19 so it worked out great for me." added Na
At the time, he was the youngest on tour. At times though, he does wish he went to college, especially this time of year.
"The only time I regret it is when I watch the NCAA basketball tournament. I have no team to root for. Besides that, I'm pretty happy about what happened and how my career turned out and how my career is going."
Na came to the U.S. from South Korea at the age of eight and took up the game a year later. Now he's about to embark on his first Masters appearance.
"I've been thinking about it and it seems like everything I do right now, it's the first time I'm going to The Masters so everything I'm doing is preparing for The Masters"
His goal, a top 16 and get the automatic invite back. With a big time performance in Augusta, more folks might recognize him for his golf, instead of his CSI appearance.
