AUGUSTA---Even Augusta mayor Deke Copenhaver is feeling the Tiger effect. Today he did a few interviews with some national media outlets, including the Golf Channel. It seems everyone wants to know about Augusta and Tiger's big return.
"This is not the normal--you know, having People Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, and Extra call into the office. It's not the usual I get during Masters," Mayor Copenhaver told News 12.
"Most people, most news media outlets are asking about logistics of having Tiger come to town," he went on. "It makes for an interesting story, and I share with them we plan this every year and this year will be no different. It will run smoothly."
The mayor adds that the city is ready to accommodate all the extra people that might be in town. He just asks that everyone is respectful.
