AUGUSTA, Ga.---Today was round one of the Masters at Augusta National.
First on the tee was Arnold Palmer, a four-time champion and now honorary starter for this year's tournament. The Masters hasn't had an honorary starter since 2002, and people were 20 deep to watch the living legend start the Tournament off.
Justin Rose and Masters rookie Brett Wetterich are your leaders after round one.
Tiger Woods was one under par when he stepped on the 17th tee box, but he finished his day at 1 over after bogeys on the last 2 holes.
Augusta's own Vaughn Taylor put on a good show today with birdies on three holes. After today's play, he sat at 1 under.
Taylor played like a veteran in just his second masters, and it's hard to imagine an easier guy to root for this week.
Vaughn missed the cut by a stroke in his first ever Masters Tournament last year, but it seems he's gotten off to a better start this time around.
Taylor hung around the leaderboard on a day where some of the best golfers in the world did not, and he emerged with a spot in the top 5.
Vaughn shot an opening round 71 to finish 1 under par.
Here's how the leaderboard looked at the end of today's play:
T1. J. Rose -3 (69)
