Shortening travel time to the Masters

AUGUSTA, Ga.---Masters Week means lots of traffic.

The traffic command center says 7 to 9 a.m. is the worst time period during the practice rounds.

Washington Road to Berckman is the longest, running an hour and a half.

When the I-20 at Washington Road exit is closed in the morning between 7:15 and 9:30, everyone gets off at River Watch Parkway, backing that area up.

Traffic experts say Wheeler Road, Martintown Road in North Augusta, and Bobby Jones Expressway are great shortcuts to avoid all that.
