Dr. J comes to the Masters

April 10, 2009

AUGUSTA---It's always fun to see celebrities show up for the Masters. Some of them stand head and shoulders above the rest--literally. Today News 12 spotted Dr. J, Julius Erving, of NBA fame.

Dr. J played for years with the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Nets. He secured his place in the NBA Hall of Fame by making dunking an art form.

So what's his strategy this week at Augusta National?

"Well, driving range," he told us. "I like to see the players warm up, see what their routines are, see what the body English is. Then I like to walk, work my way over to 15, 16, and just hang there for a while."

Dr. J says this isn't his first trip to Augusta; he's been here about a half dozen times before.
