AUGUSTA---The practice putting green is always a popular spot for patrons once the Masters Tournament starts.
Thursday, Round One, is a day when every stroke, every putt counts. Once golfers are out on the course it becomes serious business.
But at the putting green, before the players tee off, the atmosphere is a lot more relaxed. The area also gives patrons more access to the players.
"I (camp out at the putting green) early before they start out," said Doug Cassidy, in town from South Hampton, New York. "I hate to give that tip away. But before they get to the first tee, they're all going to practice putting. And then Tiger will go out by 1:15 or 2 o'clock and then we'll get out on the course."
News 12 also found lots of patrons camping out at the driving range. Of course, there are bleachers there.
