AUGUSTA---Lefty had an early start the second day of practice rounds and was on course first thing.
Mickelson's coming off a disappointing finish in Houston, but he's not that disappointed. Of course, he's familiar with every nook and cranny of the National and knows if you're going to miss, miss in the right place.
"I feel like the golf course is a course where you can recover. You don't have to play against the National perfect. I don't feel like you have to strike it immaculate to get it around. You can miss it in certain spots and recover. And I think that's probably why I have played well here in the past, because I can get away with some missed hits."
Mickelson won't play a practice round tomorrow, but usually plays in the Par 3 with daughters in tow.
