AUGUSTA, GA--It's the dream of every golfer, to play in their first ever Masters. Well, that dream is about to come true for former Georgia Bulldog Ryuji Imada.
When Ryuji Imada won the AT&T Classic last May, it mean more then just his tour victory or a two year exemption, it also meant a trip to The Masters.
"That was always on my mind because playing in the Masters has always been my dream. So yeah, when I won, I knew I was going to get to play in the Masters and I was very excited." said Ryuji Imada
While Imada will be a Masters rookie, it won't be the first time playing Augusta National. That came back in the 90's when he played college golf for the Georgia Bulldogs.
"A lot of our alumni took us there once a year but I got to play at the end of last year but it's definitely longer." aded Imada "They've planted a lot of trees and it's a lot tougher golf course."
Keep this in mind, he was all SEC at UGA twice. His first PGA tour win came in the peach state, so a win in The Masters just makes sense right?
"Well, that would be a nice one to play well in. I'd just like to have a great week. It's gonna be my first Masters. I like to take eveyrthing in and hopefully, I can play all 4 days."
Who knows, maybe win a green jacket as well.
