Profile: Masters Rookie Jason Bohn

The game of golf is filled with big personalities.

Probably the biggest of this year's rookie class at the Masters is Jason Bohn.

"It's Bohn, pronounced like B-O-N-E," he says.

How often is it messed up?

"Every time I hit off the first tee at a tournament. It doesn't bother me."

Despite Jason Bohn's easygoing attitude about his confusing last name, the day may soon be coming when everyone knows how to say it.

Bohn won the BC Open last season despite trailing in the final round and racked up $1.8 million in earnings, enough to get him a spot in this year's masters.

"I can't wait, all the tradition there. I'm going to be like a kid in a candy store. I'm just looking forward to a great week."

A great week made possible, in part, by a shot Bohn hit 14 years ago.

He won a hole-in-one shootout as a freshman at Alabama that was worth $1 million.

"It's the major reason I'm here today. It gave me the money to pursue my dream," Bohn says.

And the 33-year-old Pennsylvania native actually has a pretty substantial tie to Augusta.

"To make it even more interesting, I was actually conceived in Augusta at the army base. So my parents tell me."

Yes, he did just say that.

Bohn's father was stationed at Fort Gordon in the 70's when he was...uhhhh...

"Yes, I think that's the appropriate word for television, is conceived," Bohn says.

Right...

So his beginning in life is almost as unique as his beginning in golf. Whatever happens at the Masters, Jason Bohn should be fun to watch.
