Luck plays a part in every sport, and PGA golfer Lucas Glover would be the first to admit that.

The 26-year-old Masters rookie is in this year's field thanks in large part to a little help from Lady Luck.

"Luckiest shot of my life, but you know, some of the great ones are lucky ones," Glover says.

Careers are rarely defined by just one shot...but if Lucas Glover's were, this wouldn't be a bad one to focus on.

A final round 65 in the Funai Classic topped off by a miraculous birdie chip on 18 to take the lead and secure his first PGA tour victory.

"Hit it up and down, tried to get to the playoffs, and it went in, so that was good. Got me into a lot. Got me into the tour championship, got me into the U.S. Open, got me into the Masters, you know, so...that was a big shot."

A big shot, to be sure, but just one of many for Glover last season.

The 26-year-old Clemson graduate and 2-time All-American posted 7 top 10 finishes and earned over $2 million to garner an invite to his first Masters.

"It was great, you know, and kind of a dream come true, to use a cliché, but it's the truth. I'm looking forward to getting down there," Glover says.

"Just played really well in the spring, and really good in the fall. It was good, working hard throughout the year paid off and I was pleased with last year."

He attended the Masters a handful of times as a kid but will be able to go inside the ropes for the first time ever at a course that one of his heroes, Arnold Palmer, helped make famous.

"Back in his heyday, he kind of got us to where we are today with TV, and with endorsements and stuff like that...kind of set the stage for us back in the 50's, 60's, and early 70's," says Glover.

So now, it's Glover's turn to come to arguably the most famous golf tournament in the world and try and become someone else's hero.
