Pacers Edged Out On The Links

Georgia College & State fired a final round of even-par 284 to edge out #5 USC Aiken by three strokes during Tuesday’s final round of the 2008 Richard Rendleman Invitational. The 13th-ranked Bobcats finished the tournament at four-under-par. The Pacers carded a day two total of 291 to finish at seven-over-par.

Gamecock cornerback suspended

The Augusta Lynx played good enough to win a well-fought road game on Sunday night in South Carolina, but thanks to 34 saves by Stingrays goaltender Josh Johnson the Lynx were denied a win for the third straight game, falling 1-0.

Pacers Win 10th Straight at Home

USC Aiken (15-3) erupted for four runs in the first and five more in the third as the 14th-ranked Pacers blasted the Barton Bulldogs (10-11) 12-1 in non-conference baseball action on Sunday afternoon at Roberto Hernandez Stadium to sweep the three-game series. Off to their best start in the program’s 17-year NCAA history, USC Aiken tied a 2001 school record with their 10th-straight home win.

Jags Complete Sweep On Diamonds

Adelphi University fell to Augusta State 13-1, Saturday afternoon at Jaguar Field to close out a four game series. The Jags pounded out 16 hits off of four Panther pitchers. ASU Junior Adam Mathis received the win advancing to 1-1 on the season. Mathis only surrendered five hits in six innings and struck out three.

Jags Sweep On Senior Day

Both the Augusta State men and women seniors went out in style Saturday by beating Georgia Southwestern to wrap up the regular season. The ASU men won 65-58 while the women dropped the hammer taking it 104-55.
