USC Aiken Baseball Adds To Win Total

Senior hurler Scott Wandless tossed nearly eight innings of three-hit baseball as 10th-ranked USC Aiken (21-5, 5-2 PBC) calmed the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes (7-15, 3-4 PBC) 6-1 in Peach Belt Conference action on Friday evening at Roberto Hernandez Stadium. After suffering a three-game sweep in Americus, Ga. last year, this win marks the first-ever for the Pacers over the newest member of the PBC.

Lady Jags Advance IN NCAA Tournament

The ladies from Augusta State picked up a first round win in the South Atlantic Region by beating Shaw University 88-70. Jasmine Godwin led the offense with 14 points including three from beyond the three point line. Augusta State plays Wingate Saturday night at 6pm.

Vick's State Trial Delayed

The trial of suspended NFL quarterback Michael Vick on state dogfighting charges has been delayed. Vick was scheduled to stand trial on April 2. The Surry County Commonwealth Attorney's office says no new date has been set yet.
