Blackville, SC--For the longest time now David Berry has been at the helm of the Blackville Hilda football team. For the longest time, the Fighting Hawks have been a perennial power in class a. While last year wasn't the best, they rebounded late and hope to build on it.
You see Blackville lost their first four games before running off a six game win streak. A lot of the younger kids showed some moxy in not hanging their heads and phoning it in. Now, coach berry hopes the winning feeling carries over to this year.
"We were above .500, not where we want to be, we can't be satisified with that and they want to improve on that" said David Berry "The kids, they're buzzing right now of wanting to do and get back at it."
"It gave us a lot you know , to come from 0 and 4 to 6 and 4 because we're a very young team this year and we have a bunch of experience coming up."
They did lose Roderick Kearse who did the bulk of the damage on offense. Look for Favion Davis to step up and take the baton. Davis says this team may be small, but quick and are ready to continue the winning tradtion in Blackville.
