JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – Augusta State got a pair of top-10 efforts from senior Natalie Wille and junior Casey Kennedy as the Lady Jaguars finished ninth Tuesday afternoon in the Briar’s Creek Invitational at The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek near Charleston.
Kennedy carded ASU’s best round of the day with an even-par 72 and tied for seventh at 11-over 227, while Wille paced the squad with a tie for fourth (6-over 222) following a 1-over 73.
Notre Dame, the highest-ranked team in the field at No. 23, registered an eight-shot victory over runnerup Maryland. Coastal Carolina, the overnight leader, was third followed by Campbell and Indiana. Notre Dame’s Ashley Armstrong was medalist with a three-shot victory over Furman’s Laura Wearn.
