Augusta, Ga--The pieces are in place over at Westside. And the Patriots have been waiting to say that for a while. Now, to the task of forming all those pieces in to a region championship. Westside simply needs to finish.

For head coach Steve Hibbitts and the Patriots, the art of finishing carries a few definitions. After four straight losses to end last season, westside must finish at practice, at the Battlefield and at the end of the regular season. This was a playoff team for the first time since 2005. And all but four players are returning to the team. They have the experience and some motivation, as well.

"It should've never ended like that. We should have kept going and going strong. It ended how it ended, but this year we plan on going far." said John Freeman

"Our goal is to win the region championship and I feel like we can do that." said Steve Hibbits "If we stay away from injuries, especially later in the year, when we get in to the region, I feel like we can (win it)."

It's a veteran squad for the playoff contending patriots. Quarterback Jalen Lampkin and tailback Demarcus Vaughan are both returning along with a pack of offensive linemen.
