Warrenton, Ga--It's been a long couple of seasons for Warren County. A lot of issues off the field and little success on the field has a habit of making things tough sledding. But the screaming devils have been known to have some athletes and this year, the past is in the past.
At least this team is focusing on the present and plan on turning a one win season around. New coach Cherard Freeman takes over and says they're wiping the slate clean and the team needs to learn how to fight through adversity.
"We're not where we need to be but we're working on it" said Torrez Wentz "Next thing we have to do is bring a winning attitude. We try to bring a lot of adversity to practice so see how the kids will change mentally about adversity and how to get around things when it's not going our way"
"We should have a pretty good year, we had a pretty good summer and everyone has been working hard and we got a lot out of the summer so I think we should do pretty good this year."
Torrez Wentz is a big part of that puzzle having already committed to play at old domininon next year. Warren County opens Friday at Glascock County.
