Augusta, GA --The Augusta Sports Council (ASC) still needs volunteer support in the community for the intermedix IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta presented by the Georgia National Guard.

Known as the World’s Largest Half-Ironman, the event will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2013 in downtown Augusta and throughout Aiken County in South Carolina. The ASC anticipates an additional 150 volunteers needed for expo assistance and race day aid. Support is required for various functions from Thursday, September 26 through Monday, September 30. Volunteer opportunities begin with pre-race duties and are available through post-race for tasks including wrap-up and clean-up. Bike course marshals and lifeguards are highly encouraged to volunteer.
