Augusta, GA (January 30, 2014) - The Augusta Sports Council (ASC) is seeking 300 volunteers for the GRU Augusta Half Marathon & 10K presented by American Family Insurance, February 21-24, 2014, for a variety of functions.
The majority of volunteers are needed Sunday, February 23rd to serve as course marshals, at food and water stations, for course set set-up and breakdown and for finish line support. Shifts will begin at 5:30 am until noon. There are also volunteer opportunities on Friday, February 21st. at 2:00 pm for athlete packet stuffing. On Saturday, February 22nd, from 7:00am until 6:00pm volunteers will be needed at the Julian Smith Casino to assist with expo set-up, race registration, course set-up and to assist with the Medals for Miles Youth Fun Run. Volunteers are also needed for event tear down on Monday, February 24th at 10:00 am at the Julian Smith Casino.
