KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball team climbed to No. 5 in the final NABC/Division II rankings of the 2013-14 season.

The Pacers were No. 7 in last week’s poll, but moved up two spots after claiming the Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship on Sunday, March 9 over Montevallo. DeVontae Wright was named MVP of the tournament while Paul Larsen was tabbed to the all-tournament team.

Head coach Vince Alexander’s team carries a 29-3 overall record into the NCAA Tournament. The 29 wins are the most in Division II this season.

Metro State is first in the rankings while East Stroudsburg is second. Tarleton State and Southern Connecticut State are just ahead of the Pacers. Lincoln Memorial, West Liberty, Drury, Minnesota State and Florida Southern complete the top 10. Southeast region foe Montevallo is No. 18.
