May 31, 2014 NORTH AUGUSTA, SC-- The coaching hires of the high school football season have finally settled down. This offseason, a new coach took hold of a new program what seemed like every week. All things considered, North Augusta High School got their guy early in the process.
So far, it's paid off. Coach Brian Thomas and his Jackets squad held their spring game last Friday night. Thomas is two months in to the job of head coach and athletic director, and the time has been put to good use. Thomas believes the players have adapted to his style and plan nicely.
Although, the work will continue into the summer, Coach Thomas is pleased with what he's seen.
"The biggest thing is the expectations. They've set those, they've been winning. Coach Pippin did a great job with these kids. They expect to win, and they challenge themselves. That's the big thing for me. As long as the expectations are there, we'll get them to that point," Thomas said.
The roster will pack a nice little punch in Coach Thomas' first year. Quarterback Trib Reece returns with options at his disposal at the wide receiver and running back position. On the defensive side, look out for Victor Johnson to make an impact at end
